Parents don't just send their children to Scoil Mhuire Lacken , far from it. When doing so, Parents of children at our school become part of the school community. At Scoil Mhuire we strive to foster strong links between, the School Educational Environment and the Primary Educators of Children, which are their Parent's .
Effective and open communication between the school and parents is fundamental in encouraging Educational development. Our parent body is a vital component of our school which we value. The continued support of parents will ensure that the school and each individual's Educational, Social and Personal Development can be nurtured and developed.
The Role of the Parent's Association (PA)
The purpose of the PA is to provide a structured forum through which Parents/Guardians of pupils at Scoil Mhuire, can work together to build effective partnerships between home and school to provide the best possible Education for their children. The PA works in cooperation with the Board of Management, Principal, Teachers and Students in accordance with the Provisions of the Education Act 1998.
At the outset of each academic year our Parent's Association, holds its AGM. New Parent's are actively encouraged to join and are most welcome. Any assistance that can be offered is most appreciated!
At Scoil Mhuire the PA has a very active role, working closely with Staff and Management of the school. A plethora of fundraising activities and charitable events are organised throughout the school year. With the generosity of parents and indeed the wider community, vital funds to support the school and the children's Education have been raised.

- Purchase of sporting equipment- During the Summer of 2019- PA funded investment in Camogie Equipment, hurls, helmets and sliotars.
- Purchase of Educational Aids ( PM Readers, graded Readers for Support Children)
- Purchase of teacher laptops
- Organising of Family Fun Day
- Participation in Annual Christmas Performance.
- Organisation of Raffle Cards and Raffle prizes Christmas/ Easter
- Having a direct line to Santa in Lapland & keeping in touch with Santa during the month of December to invite him to our school for a visit.
- Purchase of catering supplies and equipment for use Special Occasions i.e First Communion/ Confirmation/ Christmas Performances.
- Providing help with various events throughout the school year.
