Digital Excellence Project
Scoil Mhuire Lacken is currently involved in a Digital Project, funded and co-ordinated by Department of Education Digital Excellence strategy. . This is a three year project and involves working closely with a number of Educational settings including Bruskey, Ballynarry, Gowna National Schools, Breffni College and Cavan Institute. This project encapsulates all classes in our school and is entitled " Dreams to Reality- Harnessing the Potential of the Digital World".
One of the targets for our project this year, was to enable the children to witness first hand experience of Digital Technologies and various aspects of STEAM Education in Industry. A visit to Combilift In Co. Monaghan provided just that !! and indeed lots more!! Combilift is an international leader in global manufacturing of forklifts- so as you can imagine excitement levels were very high!! On their return from our visit, the children were on top of the world about engineering and were most certainly intrigued by Combilift and all their operations.
