We introduced the garda station to our classroom this week. From grumpy gardaí agus bossy beangardaí it has been an eventful week. We learned new words such as handcuffs, under arrest, jail and siren. We also learned that the gardaí in Ireland do not carry guns with them like they do in some other countries. The boys and girls were very generous and brought in some of their own toys for the socio-dramatic area and the small world area. Some of the play groups built their own villages like Lacken and learned about the important parts of their parish in Lacken.
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. Full credit to Ms. Mc Kiernan and her class who dressed up as their favourite character from a book and read some pages from their favourite book to the Junior and Senior Infants. Well done!
Junior and Senior Infants will bring their favourite book in tomorrow and tell the class about it. We are looking forward to that :)
