We took part in plenty of fun maths activities this week. We use our 3D blocks to build garda stations and skyscrapers. We started the topic of length and the boys and girls worked in groups to measure different items in the classroom using non-standard units of measurement such as lollipops and coloured match sticks. We sorted our bears into big, middle and small sizes. We used the beebot and a 3D shape mat at one of our maths stations also.
We used our finger print again this week as we started our St. Patrick's Day Art, it was lovely to see the boys and girls getting the hang of it and using all the colours-the final product will be revealed next week!
We introduced the idea of writer of the week and the infants love it! They have improved so much at their handwriting. One senior infant and junior infant pupil got the award this week-well done to CJ and Andie who did some lovely handwriting this week.
