We are delighted to reorganise that we have been successful in our Green School application for our third flag on the theme of Water. We would like to thank everyone involved and all the students who worked so hard. A special,thanks to our Green school Committee and Ms McKiernan for all their hard work. We shall be having a flag raising ceremony in June. We will keep You posted.
We have made a saving of 34 1/4% on our water bill. World water day is the 22 of March for world water day we are doing a 6 km walk to show far an average person walks in a third world country to get clean water. We are all dressing up in blue and bringing water to school.

In 5th and 6th class we have been busy getting organised for trying to achieve our next Green flag. The theme we are working on is Water. We have been reading the water meter, trying to conserve water usage, fixing leaking taps, keeping our school clean and tidy, recycling and trying to save as much energy as possible. our Greenflag bid is fronted by Ms McKiernan and our Greenschool Committee. The Green school committee meet regularly to discuss our progress and make new targets, decisions and plan.
On Monday the 9th of January,the pupils of Lacken NS came back from their 2 week Christmas break.We all had a lovely Christmas.On Thursday there was lots of excited pupils after lots of snow fell but the day after there was only a thin layer of snow.On Thursday 5th and 6th class paired up with junior and senior infants for paired reading.6th class started their confirmation work a few days ago and they are also making their confirmation in March.Here is a few pictures of us playing in the snow.
