For a few weeks before Christmas the whole country was transformed into a frosty white winter wonderland. Here we are getting some fresh air and exercise out on our track around the pitch.
This week is Maths Week. As part of maths week, we have been focusing on using our Maths skills in games, maths trails, Maths all around our environment and using Maths in Art and Literacy. Today we spent some time playing Maths games which the children really enjoyed.
This year 1st and 2nd class will be partaking in PIcker Pals.
What is Picker pals ? The world faces a global crisis of waste in the environment. Every part of the natural world is affected. We urgently need to find real, practical solutions to this crisis. Raising awareness and taking real action are essential parts of the solution. Picker Pals does just this by giving young people the tools and positive motivation to develop stewardship of their local environments. Here is the link to their website for further information . Last week we received our Picker Pals schools resource pack. We will be working on PIcker Pals over the next few months in conjunction with our Biodiversity Flag. For the past few weeks we have been learning about all things Autumn. We collected leaves and brought in some conkers for the class to look at. We also have been busy updating our Irish Foclóir based on "An Fómhair!"
Have a look at some of our Autumn displays which we have made with teacher. The past few weeks we have been busy preparing and getting ready for Christmas. Here is a sample of some of our Art and crafts.
Welcome back to all our new 1st and 2nd class students. I am delighted to say everyone has settled back in brilliantly. We have had a really busy month learning about ourselves, my school and my family. Here is some of our Art work from the last few weeks. Can you spot yourself?
